Palette knife workshop – Painting #1 – Marine study

Here is my final post of paintings done at the weekend palette knife workshop I attended this last weekend in Pasadena. This was the second painting we did on Friday afternoon and I have to say, it is my favorite painting from the whole weekend. I have to say that the one difference between this painting and the other three is that it was done on canvas panel, while the other three were done on Ampersand gessobord. Maybe that’s the secret for me. I might need to use surfaces that have a little more texture to them. I will be doing another one of these, probably on a bigger canvas, in the next couple of days. I’m a little wiped out from the weekend right now, so I think I’ll pick up my pencils instead of brushes for the next day or so. I do have one figure study drawing that I need to complete.

8×10 inch oil on canvas panel.
