Marine study 04

Pulled out the acrylics again today.  I used a higher grade acrylic paint on this one and I like the paints more than the academic grade I’ve used in the past.  Everything seem to go on a little easier this time.  For some reason though, I can’t seem to get my acrylics to NOT look a little cartoony.  Just seems like that’s the way they come out.  My oils don’t look like this, so maybe it’s just the nature of the paints.  I think I’ll try an experiment with this painting and do it again in oils and see which one comes out better.
