Another night, another session of Ten-Minute apples. Just a little time to devote to this this evening so I put a small canvas on the easel and had at it. I set my phone timer to get me in and out of the sessions. Very quick renditions and I think they are getting better. Will have to keep going.
For those that don’t know, the Ten-Minute paintings are based on an exercise by Carol Marine to get a painter to loosen up their brush strokes a little. A lot of painters will work a brush stroke to death, going over and over a section many times. This can lead to boring, flat paintings that don’t look spontaneous at all. This is an exercise to help get over that.
Oh, and be sure to check out what I did with the left over paint from this exercise.
