Lesson for the day: If you’re going to want jet black hair, go straight for the charcoal. If you try to do it in graphite and realize that you’re not getting the level of black that you want and then try to go over it with charcoal, it won’t work. Although graphite is a great drawing medium, any handyman will tell you that it is also a fabulous lubricant. In other words, the charcoal won’t come off and onto your paper if there is already a layer of graphite.
