I’m getting ready for the new year to come and one of the things I’m looking to do is paint a little bigger. I’m so used to the 6×6″ or 5×7″ panels and feel the need to step it up a notch. That doesn’t mean I’ll abandon the 6×6″ panels because those are my chosen size for the Kitchen Paintings series. I’ll still do smaller paintings just because of the fun that they are.
One of my other hobbies that I’ve mentioned here before is that I am a birder. I love to spend an early morning walking around the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve or an afternoon up in the Desert Wildlife Refuge with camera strapped around my neck and trying to be as quiet as possible, hunting for those elusive targets we call birds. This is one such feathered friend, the chickadee. Who couldn’t love a fun little bird like this with a name like “chickadee?”
Dave, the chickadee is one of my favorite little birds. I love watching them, and love your painting of this little one. With birdwatching one of your hobbies, it's surprising that you don't paint more birds… great job!
