I just love these pastoral settings out in the country. This was a nice little, plains lake in the middle of farm fields. Quiet and peaceful for as far as the eye could see. Just the kind of place I could spend days or even weeks exploring the various palettes that would be possible with the rising sun, or the setting of the sun or the midday sun. Except right now this lake is probably surrounded by five feet of snow. It’s in North Dakota. Maybe I’ll wait a few more weeks before daydreaming about being there.
